History
The Aochia Sree sree Brahmmamaee Kalimandir and Sree Sree Krisnamandir was founded in 1930 by the then govt. official Sree Dinesh chandra sengupta. Once it was a mud built temple of Goddess Kali . By the tireless efforts and leadership of Sree Sujit Kanti Dutta and the devotion of the inhabitants of Aochia, the temple became one of the most famous temples of south Chittagong. The blessings of Swami Sree Sree Sintahoran Puri Moharaj play an important role of its progress.
Location and Structure
The temple is located in the village Aochia of Satkania upazila under Chittagong Dist. It is one of the most beautiful temples of south Chittagong. It is well secured by the boundary walls around it. There are two identical structures devoted to goddess Kali and lord Krishna. There is a permanent floor space in the temple premises including Nata-Mandir. There are a luxurious rest house and a pond inside the temple premises. A flower garden beside it brought a heavenly environment.The construction work is going on to beautify it's structure.
Religious and sociocultural activities
Aochia Sree Sree Brahmmamaee Kalimandir and Sree Sree Krishnamandir is a hub of sociocultural and religious activities. It arranges Gita Jagga every Friday where hindu people from different places come and take prasad. The priest of the temple used to pray every day. Morning prayer and evening prayer is held everyday. The most lucrative and gorgeous festival of it is mahotsab which is the best moment of the religious Hindus of south Chittagong.
It hosts Durgapuja, Kalipuja, Sarswatipuja, Jonmastami and other religious festivals in the respective mood.
Annakut is a another distinguish program of big gathering of the temple.
People of Aochia Hindu community mitigate their disputes coming here. Thus Aochia became a village of peace, unity and prosperity.
Future Plan
A mohasmashan is under construction near the temple. An ambulance service is going to be launched for the benefit of the local people. Construction of a building for the office room in front of it is under consideration.
